TREVEEN STEWART
Standing at five feet nine inches, the Caribbean has its first ever Top Model winner coming out of the Cayman Islands. Twenty-two-year-old Treveen Stewart was selected as the winner of the Caribbean’s Next Top Model competition.
Born in Grand Cayman, Stewart has lived in Jamaica for quite a while. She moved to Jamaica in fifth grade and lived in St Elizabeth where she attended St Elizabeth Technical High School for a few years before returning to the Cayman Islands to complete high school.
According to Stewart, Jamaica is quite different from the Cayman Islands and she has learned a lot. “Jamaica taught me how to cope in the real world at a very fast pace. Cayman is a little more relaxed, and the people a little more helpful. Jamaica teaches people how to fend for themselves and that’s important in the real world.”
She was discovered at the age of 15 when she won a regional modelling contest that afforded her the opportunity to sign with a US modeling agency. However, Stewart shunned the catwalk and instead focused on her studies by deciding to finish high school.

LIVING THE FIT LIFE
LIVING WELL – LIVING HAPPY – LIVING HEALTHY
Carolyn Gomez, Fit for life….“STRONG IS THE NEW BEAUTIFUL”
When we eat well and exercise, life is so much more enjoyable than when we eat badly and live a sedentary lifestyle. Focus on getting healthy, and your waist line will reward you.
Engaging in exercise for just 30-minutes per day can help improve your health. We all know that exercise is good for us. However, we are often too lazy to start because the very thought of exercise takes us into a lazy frame of mind. But by simply taking a short walk by yourself or with a friend around the neighborhood is already a form of exercise. It could be a walk to the neighbors’ or it could be a short brisk walk up and down the vicinity. The bottom-line is, any form of “physical” movement of the whole or partial parts of the body can be considered an exercise.
The more you move, the more bad calories you burn, and you’ll start to feel and look better.
